My Weaknesses
Introduction
Everyone has their own weaknesses, and I am no exception. Although I try my best to work on them and improve myself, these weaknesses still exist within me. In this essay, I will discuss three of my major weaknesses and how I try to overcome them.
Weakness 1: Procrastination
One of my biggest weaknesses is procrastination. I tend to delay important tasks until the very last minute, causing unnecessary stress and pressure. I have realized that procrastination is not just a bad habit, but it can also have serious consequences in both my personal and professional life. To overcome this, I have started to make a to-do list, set deadlines, and break down large tasks into smaller ones. I also try to eliminate distractions, such as social media and my phone, when I am working on important tasks.
Weakness 2: Lack of assertiveness
Another weakness of mine is my lack of assertiveness. I struggle to speak up for myself and stand up for my beliefs. This has caused me to miss out on opportunities and be taken advantage of in certain situations. To improve this, I have been reading books on assertiveness and practicing positive communication. I also try to surround myself with people who are confident and assertive, as I believe that their energy and behavior will rub off on me.
Weakness 3: Difficulty with public speaking
Lastly, I have always had a fear of public speaking. I tend to get nervous and anxious when I have to speak in front of a large group of people. However, I recognize that public speaking is an important skill to have, especially in my future career. To overcome this, I have been taking public speaking classes and practicing in front of a mirror. I have also started to take on leadership roles in student organizations, where I have to deliver speeches and presentations in front of an audience. By constantly practicing and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, I know that I can improve my public speaking skills over time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, these are three of my major weaknesses that I am working on improving. Procrastination, lack of assertiveness, and difficulty with public speaking are all areas that I struggle with, but I am determined to overcome them and become a better version of myself. By acknowledging my weaknesses and actively working on them, I believe that I can achieve my personal and professional goals.
