Atfirst,Itriedtoignorethem,buttheywererelentless.Theywouldsendmessagesatallhoursofthedayandnight,andIstartedtodreadcheckingmyphoneorcomputer.Iwasafraidofwhatthenextmessagemightsay.

Asthemessagescontinued,Ibecamemoreparanoid.Istartedtoavoidgoingoutaloneandwouldconstantlylookovermyshouldertoseeifsomeonewasfollowingme.Iwaslivinginfearanditwastakingatollonmymentalhealth.
Itriedtoreachoutforhelp,butnooneseemedtotakemeseriously.Theytoldmetojustignorethemessagesandthatitwasprobablyjustaharmlessprank.ButIknewdeepdownthatitwasmorethanthat.Icouldfeelitinmygut.

Thestalkingeventuallystopped,butthedamagehadalreadybeendone.IwasnolongerthepersonIusedtobe.Iwasconstantlyonedgeanditwasaffectingmyrelationshipswithfriendsandfamily.Ihadtroubletrustingpeopleandwouldalwaysassumetheworstineveryone.
Itwasn'tuntilIsoughtprofessionalhelpthatIwasabletostartrebuildingmylife.Therapyhelpedmeworkthroughmyfearsandanxiety,andIwasabletoslowlyregainmysenseofself.Butthememoryofbeingstalkedwillalwaysbewithme,andit'sascarythought.
